Exhibition: Les Kurbas

(on the 100th anniversary of the first People’s Artist of the UkrSSR)

The exhibition had four parts:

1. Kurbas’s Youth (1887-1916)
2. Young Theater (1916-1921)
3. Artistic Director of Berezil (1922-1933)
4. Finale (1934-1986)

The exhibition was in the constructivist style, with the stage used as a figurative structure with theatrical lighting. The authors explored the phenomenon of Kurbas’s theater: how it was born, it’s stages of development and modern perception.
